The visitor to this museum is treated to a personal tour by curator, owner, collector, Jim Cooley. The museum features "primitive" cars which he defines as cars which have "one or two cylinders" and represent the development of the automobile. The majority of these cars are unrestored and chances are you won’t see them anywhere else. The cars are shown in static displays and arranged in chronological order. The first car is the three-wheeled 1886 Benz which has a one cylinder 3/4 horsepower engine. Next is an 1895 Benz Velo which is credited as the first mass-produced car in the world. One of the most interesting cars to me was the 1899 Mobile Steamer which was built under the Stanley patent which was then sold back to Stanley in 1900.

Vintage automobiles displayed in a salvaged-wood barn with a gift shop & old-school theater. In 1951 John Victor Motte bought a Chevrolet Touring for $15, overhauled the engine, and restored the car in the late 1970's. That Chevrolet was the car that began the private collection, and fueled the Motte Brothers desire to restore antique automobiles. The 1926 Chevrolet Touring is currently on display at the Museum, and the preservation of the rest of the restored automobiles continues today.
