We have been graced with some fantastic dogs over the years, but alas photographs of many did not survive.

Meet our Golden Retrievers, and the newest addition, Jeff the Bearded Dragon.

Update 2023 : Sadly, both Jake and Jess have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.  Life hasn't been quite the same since they left us, and I feel that Jess (who made 16 years old) is always watching me or at my heels, just like she was all her life.

Jeff has been found a new home, where he is pampered and seems very happy!

Jack

Jack was our best yellow dog :)   He had the most beautiful soul, and lived to be near me.   I miss him still and think of him every day.

Jack and Jess

As Jack started to get older, I had the bright idea of getting him a mate and eventually some Pups from them. Sadly, this was not to be, as Jack got sick before Jess was old enough to breed. At first Jack was not overly impressed with having a new pup around the house, but Jess adored him from the moment she laid eyes on him – and Jack, (being the beautiful dog he was) tolerated her and soon came to enjoy having her around.

Jess and Jake

After Jack’s sudden departure (and against advice from everyone else) I tried to fill the huge hole in my heart and the house with a new pup – Jake. I did learn something from that. Jake is definitely a very different person from Jack, and it took me a long time to warm to him – and he still drives me crazy sometimes, but I’m glad he is with us, especially as he loves Jess and happily follows her lead on most things.

Hostworks Dog Day

In 2008 I was working for a great little Internet Hosting company called Hostworks (subsequently mismanaged into obscurity, sadly). We had a really good bunch of guys back then, many of them dog lovers – so I organised the one – the only – Hostworks Dog Day!

Jeff

They told me he would grow into a Great Dane but I’m starting to have my doubts! Meet Jeff, the Bearded Dragon! I bought Jeff on a whim (who would have thought a Lizard could be so CUTE?) in June 2020. He is a Central Bearded Dragon, and was 6 months old when he joined our little zoo. I’m rather taken by him and his little quirks, and find him rather cool 🙂
