Hellfire Pass

A trip up into the mountains took us to the famous Hellfire Pass, where allied troops were worked as slaves by the Japanese to build a railway pass. Sobering. I had a wonderful uncle who was kept a prisoner here, so it had a personal meaning and a deep effect on me.
